Advent is so close and I absolutely love this time of year. However, as you might already know, despite my years of working in parish ministry and my degree, the one part of teaching the faith to my kids that still trips me up is the crafty little projects they seem to love so much.
I know crafts aren’t vital and my kids would still turn out ok without them, but there’s a definite richness to celebrating the season with tangible things that kids can grasp at their own level, no matter how simple or complicated you do it.
One resource I want to share with you today is a jam packed ebook by Christine at Little Bits of Grace called “Advent Alive”. She’s created a go-to guide for celebrating Advent at home with kids with countless ideas, how-tos, where to get things, and more. It’s practical and super easy to read (love it), and packed with ideas for Advent and all the special traditions and feasts throughout it.
What I found most useful about this is truly Catholic ideas with the how-to and resource links to make it happen all in one place. This is saving me tons of time browsing through Pinterest (where I’m usually left disappointed). I think this is a great resource for families with younger kids, but any family might have fun with some of her ideas!
Christine has graciously offered a free copy to one Yellow Pelican reader (yay!), so click on the Rafflecopter below to get your entries in. Winner will be announced on November 23 and once confirmed, will be emailed the free copy of the Advent Alive ebook.
For those that want to grab your own copy (you know you do), she’s offering it for just $7.99 and you can order it here!
